Who Can Join?
To be a part of GFTN-Bolivia, participants are expected to fulfill the following requirements.
- All participants must publicly commit - through a written document - to responsible forest management and responsible purchasing policy.
- Industry participants must make public their purchasing documents and deadlines of assumed commitments to gradually eliminate all purchases of wood from unknown, illegal and/or controversial sources, and gradually introduce the purchase of wood from sources that can be identified regarding the defined environmental category and achieve credible certification of their chain of custody for all their installations, factories and sawmills within 5 years.
- Forest owner or concessionary participants have to achieve credible certification of at least one Forest Management Unit (FMU) within 5 years, and all the FMUs they manage within 10 years.
Organizations suitable to be a member of GFTN-Bolivia:
The participation is open to the following types of organizations:
- Forest managers: Companies or other entities that manage producing forests
- Processors: Sawmills in general and plywood sawmills
- Producers: Wood products transformers and producers
- Traders: Woods products retailers and suppliers
- Professionals: Architects, engineers, and other wood products using entities
- Final users: Companies that finally use wood products, and construction companies.
